March

Haven't had much time to update our blog recently.  Been super busy recently.  Dave's sister came into town to visit us for about a week.  We had a good time with her while she was here.  Jimmy was kind of cranky during her visit though, which kind of sucked.

Dave and Sarah flew in the same day.  Since Sarah's flight came in first, I picked her up and we went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory while we waited for Dave's plane to land.  Jimmy sat in a highchair for his first time during our lunch!  He was kind of slouching to one side, as you can see in this picture, but overall he did VERY well.  I think it's funny when we take him out to dinner and the hostess gives Jimmy a chlidren's menu...hahaha!
While Sarah visited, we all went to Triumph Tattoo to get tattooes together.  Our appointment started at noon, and we were there until about 8 pm.  Jimmy was with us, and I was so worried that he would get super cranky from being there for such a long time, but he did OUTSTANDING!  He hardly fussed at all.  I'm so glad he is a very chill guy.

Here is a picture of Jimmy sleeping with his daddy while our tattoo artist was drawing up my tattoo.

Here's our tattooes we got.  Dave got the airframer insignia with a quote from a poem about a jet mechanic.  I got Jimmy's full name with a sapphire colored aster, and morning glories.  (Jimmy was born in September, and September's birthstone is a sapphire and the flowers are morning glories and asters)  And Sarah got a really cool sun with the Egyptian eye in the middle.  Our tattoo artist (Jim) did a wonderful job!

Right after Sarah went back home to Maryland, our really good friend Justin got back from his deployment.  We've been having a lot of fun with him since he's been home.  He brought back some really cool things for Dave and I that he got on cruise.  He bought Dave a really cool pipe and then he got me a hot pink trucker hat and 24 different rubber duckies.  I LOVE rubber duckies!
(Justin and I)

Our good friend Kevin also stopped by for a visit recently as well.  He is stationed on the Lincoln right now.  He only stayed with us for 2 days, but we still had a good time.  Kevin and Justin used to play video games alot together, so that is pretty much what Kevin's visit consisted of.  I made him some homemade food while he was here since he lives on a carrier.  Kevin used to live in Japan and absolutely loves everything about Japan.  We're hoping he will come visit us when we are stationed there.

Jimmy is now 6 months old.  He is 17 pounds and 28 inches.  To me, that sounds HUGE, but he isn't gaining weight as fast as the doctors would like to see.  We've been working really hard at trying to beef him up and boost my milk supply.  They are starting to talk about supplementing with formula, which I DON'T want to do at all.  The doctors here are so unsupportive of BF'ing famillies.  It's been a struggle.

Here are some recent pictures of Jimmy to sum up this entry.

Some Videos

Haven't posted anything in awhile.  I've been pretty sick lately, which totally sucks.  Dave comes home this weekend and so does my "sister-in-love" Sarah.  Really hoping I will feel better by their arrival.  It's really hard being at home along with an infant while you're sick.  All I want to do is sleep, but that isn't an option...especially with an energetic baby.  :)

We are really looking forward to daddy coming home and Auntie Sarah's visit.  I'm not exaclty sure what we are going to do while Auntie Sarah is here, but I know we are going to have a blast.

Jimmy has been doing awesome lately.  He can ALMOST sit up on his own unsupported.  He will pull himself up to a sitting position and stay there for a few seconds before he topples over.  And recently, he has been trying to crawl.  I tried capturing it on video, but everytime I brought the camera out, he would stop.  I got a small clip of him trying, but it is nothing in comparison to how hard he really trys.  It won't be long before I am chasing this little boy around!

Jimmy making some silly noises.  He will sit for about an hour sometimes just making these noises to himself and anyone that will listen to him.

This is Jimmy trying to crawl.  It isn't a good attempt, but it was the best that I could get on camera.  He trys SO MUCH harder than this sometimes.

Bath Time

Every mom has to have bathtime pictures of their kids!
So here they are!

Jimmy sure does love his bathtime.  He LOVES to splash in the water with his legs.

Jimmy LOVES playing with his rubber duckies and splashing in the water with his legs.
We have this AWESOME rubber duckie spout that makes bubbles for his bath!  And it is also somewhat soft, so he doesn't bumb his head on the spout or burn himself.  How cool is that?!

Whenever I get his head/face wet with water, he looks at me like he can't believe I would do such a thing..."Really, mom?"
I tried making a soap mowhawk, but his hair is too long and wouldn't stand up.
Time to dry off.  BRRR!!

Just chilling in my really cool turtle robe.  No big deal!  :o)

Uh oh!  BOOTY SHOT!

Snowy Saturday

So I ended up driving Olivia to the airport yesterday.  I'm so sad that she is moving to San Diego, but I know that this is a good thing for her.  We have had so many good times together.  From working together when we were teenagers, to partying like crazy, to growing up and leaving those times behind, to starting our own families...*sigh*.  She will be missed.

I was kind of nervous driving her to the airport because the snow is still here, and I would have to drive back home in the dark.  It's about a two hour drive back home.  But everything was fine.  I tend to worry too much.

I stopped in Lynnwood on the way home to grab a bite to eat, and to nurse Jimmy.  He was pretty hungry as well.  I found this pizza/pasta place called Amante and decided to give it a shot.  Ordering a Thai calzone...it was AMAZING!

Jimmy can almost sit up by himself now!  He is really good at supported sitting.  I place in in our Boppy Pillow and he can sit up pretty nicely in it.  I'm so proud of him!

We have been working on his tummy time lately.  He knows how to roll over from his back onto his tummy, but then he gets stuck.  He loses his patience VERY quickly when this happens and likes to scream.  SOOOO, we've been practicing playing on his tummy lately.  We bought him a cute little toy for this.  It has butterflies on it and whenever he grabs them, they start making music.  This has helped alot with his frustration of being on his stomach.  GO JIMMY!

A Nice Surprise

Woke up early with Jimmy this morning.  He has been fighting off a cold lately, so he went to bed early.  It was beautiful when I woke up this morning!  Nice and sunny...even though it was only 18 degrees outside!

Some of the snow is melting, but is still beautiful.

And when I went outside to take a picture of the snow, I found two packages on our doorstep from Dave!  What a nice surprise!  I wonder what it could be?!

He sent me a penguin pillow pet!!  He knows that I LOVE penguins.  And he also sent us a shower caddy...hmm.  He has always complained that I have too many shower products.  Now I have somewhere to put them!  And he also sent a mirror for the shower...this is probably more for him.  So he can shave in the shower.  And then he also sent a cowboys throw blanket.  What a nice guy!

Jimmy has been jumping in his jumperoo alot today.  He has alot of fun in that thing.  We bought him his jumperoo for his first Christmas, and it is by far his favorite toy.  I put on the TV show Cailou for him to watch while he is jumping and he is having a blast.  He keeps giggling at the TV whenever Cailou laughs.  It is absolutely precious!

There's a video of Jimmy jumping in his jumperoo.  Pickles is in the backgroud being jealous.  :o)

Well, off we go.  One of my best friends,Olivia, is moving to San Diego today and we have to go say goodbye to her.  I am sad to see her go.  We will miss you!!
(This is a picture of us at a nightclub in Oak Harbor called Element.  We always have such a good time together)

Attempt At A First Entry

I've never kept a blog before or even followed someone's blog, so this is very new to me.  This is really more for myself than anyone else anyways.  Just a cool little way of keeping memories of my son, Jimmy.

Not much has been going on lately.  My husband, Dave, is gone right now.  He is in California for career school.  We miss him very much.  He should be back sometime in March, and his sister Sarah is going to visit us then!  We couldn't be more excited!

We just got our first computer today (FINALLY).  We've had snow for about two days now.  This is very unusual weather for Whidbey Island.  We don't get snow that often.  I really wish Jimmy was old enough to go outside and enjoy it.  I saw some neighbors sledding with their children and got so excited knowing that one day, that would be me and my son out there having fun together!  We have so many fun things to look forward to!  Oh well, Pickles is having enough fun for us all out there!

He likes to chase the snowballs that I throw and run around the yard really fast in the snow.  He is such a goober.  Some of the snow melted off of our patio roof, made a puddle on the patio, then froze.  Pickles ran across it, and fell on his face!  It was so funny!!  He just got up quickly and kept on running.

Pickles and Jimmy are best buds.  Whenever Jimmy is playing on his jungle gym mat, Pickles is always laying right beside him.  Whenever Jimmy cries, Pickles always runs to his side.  Jimmy has learned how to reach out and grab things, and he loves holding onto Pickles ears.  Sometimes Pickles licks his face and he laughs.  It is beyond adorable!

I recently made a diaper wipe holder for my freind Heather and her baby girl, Avery.  It turned out pretty cute and I think I will make one for myself.  And maybe one for a little somebody that is expecting a baby boy in May.  :o)  Now, the ones for the baby boys won't be so girly and glam.

Well, that's it for my first post.  I will try to keep this thing updated.
